You will be submerged into Russian art starting with treasures of icon-painting from the 12th century and the Old Russian Art (Andrey Rublev). Then it is time to enjoy the 19th-century realist art (Repin, Shishkin, Perov, Surikov, etc) and Russian Symbolism bordering the 19th and 20th centuries (Kustodiev, Serov, Vrubel,). All of these is at the main building of the Tretiakov Gallery which is an architectural masterpiece by itself. 

The next tour stop is the Park of Fallen Idols (also called Fallen Monument Park), located at MUZEON Park - part of the famous Gorky Park nowadays. The impressive story of social realism statues will be told. More than 700 statues of Soviet political leaders, unnamed workers and peasants can be viewed interwoven with greenery and trees. Moreover, the group monument dedicated to communist regime victims and the World War II section – paying tribute to the events of the horrible war days - will be discovered by you. It is not just a place for preserving historical artifacts, it is an astonishing open-air museum of contemporary art; many festivals and exhibitions take place over here.
